Ice Hockey:

The world-renowned Toronto Maple Leafs is probably Toronto's most well known sports team. The team traces its history all the way back to 1917 with the beginning of the National Hockey League. It's first name was the Arenas named for their first home, Arena Gardens. In 1918, the team won the first ever Stanley Cup at the end of that first season and they've been going strong ever since.
